How to Clean Vinyl Floors?
Vinyl is a great option for durable, inexpensive flooring. Maintaining vinyl flooring so that it looks good for a long time is easy to do as long as you know which products good to use. Here's how to keep your vinyl floors in tip-top shape.
Gathering Suitable Cleaning Tools
Deep cleaning a vinyl floor takes a little elbow grease, but you can eliminate the scuff marks and stains with a few simple and readily available tools and products. We would like to recommend you the following tools and supplies:
Vacuum  Broom / Light Brush
PH neutral cleaner
Microfiber cloth / Soft scouring pads
Microfiber mop
Bucket
Â
Once you have all of your cleaning tools ready, please follow these steps,
Dust removing: Start by vacuuming or broom-sweeping your floors to pick up surface dust, dirt and hair. Make sure you get under furniture, in corners, and along baseboards. If using a vacuum, choose a setting that does not engage the beater bar which can cause dents in some vinyl flooring.
Scuff marks removing: Before mop, just slightly dampen a microfiber cloth with water, then buff out the scuff. For food stains from grape juice, mustard, ketchup, tomato sauce and the like, make a paste of baking soda and water and gently rub the stain until it disappears. Clean thoroughly to remove any traces of baking soda.
Scrubbing the hard-to-reach spots: Use a mini scrub brush or grout brush, to clean dirt or stubborn stains. And you can try to use some baking soda to remove.
Mopping: Mopping with the microfiber mop, and please use the PH neutral cleaner. Rinse the mop in cleaning bucket often, wringing it out so that it is damp but not dripping wet. Replace dirty wash water as needed with a new mix of your preferred cleaning solution.
After mopping, rinse-mop the floor with clean water. If you used a vinegar and water solution you can probably skip this step.
Note: Don’t use wet mop & steam mop.
Â
Drying: When you finished, dry the floor thoroughly with clean microfiber cloth. Try your best to stay off the floor until it has dried completely. If time is of the essence, use a fan to circulate air to speed the drying process.
